How Vetagro Sup used ChallengeMe

VetAgro Sup - National School of Veterinary Services

VetAgro Sup is a leading higher education and research establishment, renowned for its training of veterinary doctors, agricultural engineers and veterinary public health inspectors. Located on two campuses, in Marcy l'Etoile (69) and Lempdes (63), the institute welcomes around 1,200 students, 5% of whom are international. VetAgro Sup stands out for its global approach to health issues, integrating human, animal and environmental health in a One Health perspective.

Peer assessment in group work

VetAgro Sup recently introduced an innovative peer assessment approach for group work, using the ChallengeMe platform. This initiative, led by Nejma Chabab and Jénovéfa Philippot, aims to improve student engagement and the quality of learning.

Objectives of the approach

  1. Involve students more in the evaluation process
  2. Developing students' critical and reflective skills
  3. Improving the quality of group work
  4. Facilitating early detection of groups in difficulty

Implementation

Teachers have used ChallengeMe to create peer assessment activities, where students evaluate and comment on each other's work. This approach makes it possible to:

  • Prevent problems of unequal involvement in group work
  • Personalize feedback on deliverables
  • Efficiently evaluate the work of many students
  • Quickly identify priority areas for improvement

Results and benefits

  1. Increased student engagement in learning
  2. Improving constructive feedback skills
  3. Developing critical thinking and self-evaluation skills
  4. Better prepare students for the professional world
  5. Saves teachers time in the evaluation process
